Angry Door wouldn't close now!! WTF????

Ok this thread is similar to my "locked in my car thread" soo anyways... Last night at work again, same scenario but this time I've put a coat of wax on her this time ok... I get in my car go to back up and the door won't close .. Like the mechanics won't engage not to mention my door release is feeling loose again ...Security even witnessed my prediciment too soo I'm not having a blonde moment ok... Again my drivers side door would not close soo I could drive my car home, but yes it did eventually work!!!

I'm thinking I may have to carry some duct tape with me just in case and thankfully I wear my seat belt!! I sure as hell hope my door doesn't pop open while I'm driving or GM's gonna hear from me

I love the car but this little problem **** is getting on my nerves.. and I'm even thinking I may have bought a lemon with all the problems I'm having, however small they may be but damn its only got 10,000k on it!!!!! I treat this car better then myself damnit

And please people !Don't highjack my thread ok!

Have you ever taken the interior trim panel off? The inside handle is connected with a cable that could be routed wrong and it is maybe binding. I am sure the dealer will fix it for you.

ya i was patient til i got locked in. bring it back before it happens at a time u cant afford to be locked in or out ur car. it took them a day to fix it and with the door open probably less. they had to fix mine without the door open. must of been a pain in the ass but the dealership is a pain in the ass.

Cobalt Drivers Door Not closing AND Sticking open

Our 2005 Cobalt SS/SC is sitting in the Dealership right now for the FOURTH time for this EXACT same problem. So far they think it is our Imagination and can't find anything wrong. Sometimes the door will not open (like the electronics arent engaging). Other times the door will not shut, It just pops back open like the latch will not engage. We found that if we cycle the power locks several times, it sometimes "fixs" it at least temporarily. I'll update what I find out from the dealer IF they ever fix this problem!

my mazda used to do that all the time where for sum reason the metal clamper things would be in closed position while the door was open. i just had to use a screw driver to push the thing back up into the open position.

ne way not sure if thats your problem but good luck

For this problem in particular have you checked the latching mechanism to make sure there isn't any gunk build-up in there or check if it's too tight and in need of oiling? I had this happen on my old car and it was because it wasn't rocking like it should have been when you shut the door and I had to clean it up and re-lubricate it so it would engage when hitting the door latch. I'm assuming you have but just thought I'd offer a suggestion of somethin' to maybe try .

I have the same problem with mine now. I just bought the car yesterday. Oh well, I guess I'll go to the dealer. Do they give you a courtesy car usually when you bring it to the dealer?

Thanks
