my moms 2006 ss sedans ebrake wont release for some reason, cables are properly adjust and all,

it will only release if i physically push the stop on the caliper back into position on both sides. it almost like the spring doesnt have enough tension ti pull it back.

it eventually releases when driving.

any ideas? the car only has 50 000kms.
