Question Economy 11.1Litres per 100km.. wtf?

Ok now that I'm awake .. I know my other thread was up a few people, sorry..

Ok here's the jist of it! I have been putting in Shell V-power for over a month now. My fuel economy b4 doing this with 87octane was approximate 10L per 100km.. Now with Shell 91 my economy is shown as 11.1Litres per 100km..

Now my fuel economy has gotten worse yes/no? I drive as I ussually do..

I know you want to use less fuel per 100k but thats not the case here!! Why would my car with the better recomended fuel cause worse gas milage??

Don't hoss me just ask a question if you don't understand, thanks

try something other than shell gas. many people use it without issue, however car manufacturors in the late 80 released bullitins pertaining to issues (fuel economy being one of them) with shell gas. myself, id never run it. if you can try running chevron or petro canada.

i always put petro gas in mine. they tend to have a better quality control on their gas from what i've found. i've never used any other place. im running 87 and im down to about 9.5L/100KM at the moment

go and get a fuel additive that will clean your filter, lines and injectors as me and my bro were having the same issue a few months ago and after we ran the acdelco stuff from the dealer our gas mileage went to a good point right where im at now. so give that a try i think their stuff is like $20 or somewhere around there. but its good stuff and it works. but whatever additive you use make sure you put it in on an empty tank as to get it all mixed up and all that good stuff.

no worries if your still having issues it sounds like your injectors are running rich and if thats the case your long term fuel trim should be up around 18% or so as im assuming you don't have a CEL. so if this doesn't help ya then i would go and see a dealer about it.

hahaha no worries i just see it alot and from personal experience. also have you tried reseting your economy monitor. its a good idea to do that every so often as ours over a few trips reads an average of km's driven to how many times you have filled up giving you an inaccurate current economy where as if you reset it. for i think about 100km you will get an accurate reading on how your economy is at that point.
