Electrical Issues.

Soo the car won't start.

Throws App sensor code, a Throttle position high and low voltage code, The IC pump stays on all the time whether the key is in the ignition or not, and the fuel pump relay doesn't turn on when the key is turned on.

Its not the fuel pump relay itself/ Its not the ignition switch and i checked all the grounds.

Somehow my pcm is getting constant ignition power, the IC pump shuts of if shut off in hpt. the fuel pump is still not turning on, where could the short be between the vcm and the ignition signal?

Here's a copy/paste of what is on SI about the P2610:

P2610
• The ECM is powered down.

• The intake air temperature is between -40 to +125°C (-40 to +257°F).

• DTC P2610 runs once per ignition cycle.

Conditions for Setting the DTCs
The ECM detects an internal failure or incomplete programming for more than 10 seconds.

Mentioning what kind of car you have might help people try and help you. :D

If youve been tuning it I would try reloading a know good tune, maybe the pcm is corupted and reloading may fix it.

Another thing is to check the pcm connectors, could be loose.

Pull and reseat all relays in the fuse box, concentrate on the crank, start relays could be loose due to whell hop
Etc.

Did all this before posting. Can't seem to figure out the issue

Coblasts 02-22-2011 03:38 PM

What were you doing before it didnt start.?

elite_Cyborg 02-22-2011 04:27 PM

putting a new motor in

Coblasts 02-22-2011 04:40 PM

Did you put the motor in with the harnesses installed, possile pinched wire,
Take a good look at the harnesses where they come out of the fire wall for any mark indicating that
It might of been squished.
Then take the harness apart to take a good look.

elite_Cyborg 02-22-2011 07:23 PM

are there any sensor differences between the years. ie canbus and voltage?

slickss24 04-08-2011 11:52 PM

i had the same problem when i put a new motor in mine i had the throttle body sensor and coil sensor switched they are the same color plug and are on the same harness i spent a week trying to figure it out but switched the two and it started right up

el_angelito 12-18-2011 06:51 PM

do you found the problem because I just take my supercharger off and transmission to upgrade somethings and after I install everything my car start but after a time with out warning it goes off and doesnt start again.

make sure the throttle body connector is properly installed el angelito. for the OP I would suggest removing the fuse box and checking the connectors. Also, making sure all the correct connectors are made, the coil paks and the cps are interchangeable. The PCM pins are an issue as well, they can wear out at the connector so be cautious.

I check all the wires and i have a intermittent problem and is with the fuel

See if you can find a new fuse block to throw in for testing.. Sometimes they have internal faults. Big problem in the Impala's but have seen a few in HHR/Cobalt

getwicked 01-26-2012 08:32 PM

Also: make sure you put all the relays and fuses back it the right positions.
