engine pwr reduced (miss)
so im in lovely south eastern ohio its been frickin raining for weeks and my car runs like **** every morning after a heavy rain fall
i have an 05 ss/sc and a injen CAI
this morning im driving and then the car nose dives i get the engine pwr reduced on the dash and i pull off the road.
i check the boost gauge its at zero and when i depress the throttle it goes up to 20 to 30lbs of vacuum
it sounds like it is missing and the engine is knocking horribly
im not a mechanic and dont presume to be but WTF is going on, did i suck up water?
if so what do i do.
please provide help so that i dont need to push car off of a cliff
other details can be provided upon request i need fixed asap so all help is appreciated

Sounds to me like your air filters wet.
What type of filter are you using and is it oiled properly.
Theres a hole by the fog light that lets water hit the filter directly,a deflector of some kind might be in order.
Also from the engine bay it will run down the pipe onto the filter.

I just experienced something just like this here in Wisconsin. It was raining really bad and I had to drive about an hour on the highways. I noticed it becoming worse and worse the farther I got. Almost like it was misfiring. I finally got back home, pulled in the garage and shut it off for the night not really thinking anything of it.
This morning, before church, I go to start the car and it's idling crazy. I gave it a little gas to see if that would help, it didn't. I took off the intake hose and tried it like that, it seemed to do the same. I might let it sit with everything open and see if letting it dry out will help.
I have an injen too.
Anyone have thoughts?

so i found out what has happened i guess all the previous times this has happened its because water has got in my MAF, well this time it shorted out so i pulled it and the the stock MAF has no screen nor did the replacement i bought. so i called injen and they told me to buy their hydro sock thing at first i thought this is BS but i bought one any way and it seems to have cured my problem. i have driven in three big storms since no issues so idk give it a shot.

yeah i have the hydro sleve thing...i think it's black. It just slips over the top of the intake filter and zip ties or something. I've been running my injen for over 3 years. I've never had a problem with rain until this last event. Mine's working great now that it dried out.
Goodluck with everything.
