Engine Shutdown while driving last night

So I'm on my way home from my friends place last night and while I'm driving, doing maybe 35, the engine just shuts down. I didnt realize it until I pressed the gas and the car kept slowing down. So I roll over to the side of the road, restart the car and it's fine, this is the first and only time this has ever happened. I'm wondering if it was my subs, but all the electrical was fine, except the odometer display shut off as well. Anyways, back to the subs, I know they're wired correctly, b/c I had best buy do it, and the minute they said they were done, I checked over every wire they put in the car. I would've installed the subs myself, I was just being lazy and didnt feel like pulling interior panels. I realized last night that maybe it's b/c I dont have a cap wired into the system, but the draw off the battery isnt enough to kill the car.

Has anyone had this happen or have any idea why the engine just shut off randomly?

Sometimes the Throttle position sensor screws up and the car shuts off.

Hate to sound like a broken record......either take it to the dealer or go to an Autozone/parts house and have the computer read. Should have some DTCs stored because of this. That's the only way you can find out what's wrong. Only advice anybody can give you is pure guessing .

Why did you try to push start it?

Yeah, I'm gonna take it to the dealership, only thing is that I can't do it until this weekend and I just thought it was really weird how it happened. I mean, the car is still under warranty so I'm def gonna get them to check it out and fix whatever is wrong with it, if anything. I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem.

guys, the install is fine, i checked everything over myself, and I know the two guys that did the install, they wouldnt screw with me. If anything was done incorrectly, I would have made them fix it right then and there. The only thing it COULD have been is that my amp is drawing too much power, but I doubt that, I wouldve noticed it before then.

If your amp was drawing to much power your car just wouldn't shut off like that with no warning. You would have gotten a SES light of some sort. Anyways mine did this about a week ago. Took it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong they had a bunch of codes that were set but everything was working properly and they cleared themselves after three starts i think it was.
