Engine won't turn over...help!
Our Cobalt LS ran out of gas a few days ago, luckily in our driveway (daughter didn't put gas in - drove with the warning light) but after my husband put 3 gallons back in, the engine will not turn over, as if the gas is not reaching the fuel pump. Any suggestions? Need to use the car!! It ran fine before running out of gas.
How many times did he try to start it? keep the key in the "on" position, not start, for a little to allow the gas to reach the rail/injectors.. It probably would have made it already, but just in case.
When the car is in the "on" position you should be able to here the pump activate and start pumping.
Anything?
Check fuses.
Also the fuel pump is cooled by the gas, there is a possibility that it burned up due to over heating.
