As for what they are wanting to do... well i guess there is a bright side to it, at least you have a brand new crank sensor that shouldnt go bad for a while (not that I am saying that is the problem with the current sensor). I am sorry to hear what happened to your car, but I can see where the dealership would not have the parts to fix it. I asked about several possible parts for my car when I purchased it and they had none of them in stock. Maybe I have a crappy dealer, but I suspect that this is more common than not.

To me, time is the big thing they are taking away from you. Nice that they pay for the hotel (up to a point), but how do you get this time back? I guess that, more than anything else, would be what I would be mad about.

Did they offer to allow you to borrow a car from their lot while they do the repairs? I know this was mid-trip but maybe it would give you more options or at lease some mobility while stuck in town? My salesman told me that he personally would allow me to take a car off of the lot if I had problems with my car, however I would have to talk to him and schedule it in advance. Not sure this dealership you are at would allow something like that?

 

they offered a rental, but i would have to be pay, but they would pay me back.... i said nah, gimmie shuttle service.... i go in tomorrow after they install a crank sensor, to show em its still over boosting and say told ya so,,,,

 

thats nothin... a clogged cat? please.. try asking them about "Downpipe Blown in Half" then you'll get some funny responses. I think your best bet is just to get a new header and D/P so you don't have to worry about it ever again.. Just my $.02

Get quality parts and a good tuner and your golden.

 

Relax my man, do not get too angry. Luckily I have not encountered any engine problems yet (except for my injen intake, it whistles at vacuum throttle...im guessing a hole) but just in due time. Quick question though, why would you need to stay in a hotel while your car gets fixed?

And another question, I never understood this rep stuff, how do you see how much positive and negative you have?

update, they installed the new sensor..... took it for a ride. brought it back, and said, your car is fine to take home, no lights no anythin, i start it, and tada a CEL, this time its saying my cat is goin, i was like "I ******* TOLD YOU MY CAT WAS GONE" so they do a test, and they say my cat is flowing fine..... so i took it for a ride, and in 1st..... i couldnt even hit 5 thousand rpm, and my car was hissing like a bitch, and started making popping noises.......and was slow as *****...... any idea if a cat would do that....i mean... wow... popping now?? EXTREME loss of power.....

 

have them go for a ride with you.....you drive

There is a simple solution to all of this, go to a muffler shop that is will just put a pipe threw your cat and run cat-less.... More power, Boost and economy...Sounds better too.. Plus no more drama. And before anyone complains about the o-zone, our cars are not the issue, the damn semi's and buses and all that crap is the issue.
