F Gm!!!

OK heres the story...On September 14th I was driving to work and while sitting at a stoplight I watched with my own two eyes my shifter move out of first gear into neutral on its own. Well thats weird, I thought and put it back in first. The light turns green...I go...for about 2 seconds then the car is in neutral and wont go into ANY gear. SO I coast off into the grass, turn the car off and back on...still wont go into any gear. I call my dad who works at the same place I do to bring his truck and tow rope to pull my piece of **** to work which is only half a mile from the scene of the breakdown. So on the way to work being towed by a ford truck (ironic...hmm) i push the nifty little blue button to tell my friends at onstar (what a wonderful feature that gm has put into its high quality cars and trucks for when the inevitable instance that they breakdown occurs) that I, for the 3rd time, need to have my car towed to the dealer. Yeah my dad could have pulled me there but I figured oh what the hell let gm pay for it (lol BITCHES!).

Well it is now October 4th...car has been there for 21 days. for the first week I called the dealer every day. The second week I called every other day. Now I dont call at all...Im hoping they will keep the bastard for 9 more days so I can file lemon law. They tell me A. they dont know for sure whats wrong with it, B. They dont have the tools they need to find out, C. GM doesn't make parts for this particular transmission therefore it can't be fixed until they do. I ask them...well how in the hell does GM make the damn car if there arent any parts available. "The transmissions come fully assembled already". In my sarcastic tone I suggest "Well hey I have the perfect plan how bout you just put in a new transmission!"..."GM won't allow it"

Well at this point I am pissed and dont even want the damn car back...I drove a rental HHR until today when I got tired of being laughed at for driving a vehicle that resembles a hearse. So now im driving a ford f150...I hope gm likes paying the rental bill for a ford HAHA. Once my car has sat at the dealer for 30 days I will be calling gm and asking for a 24,000 dollar check and if they say no then heres what I will say. "Lemon law bitch see you in court"

Sorry for the rant but I have absolutely had it with this car and gm. I bought it new in january and it only has 18000 miles (I think...I dont remember exactly its been a while since i have seen it). Has anyone else been sucessful with the lemon law and/or gm?

They will probably try to give me some bullshit that I can't do lemon law since I have intake and stage 2 even though it is a gm performance part. Then I will throw a couple sticks of lit dynomite into the service department in the middle of the night and they will have to pay me anyways since my car has been sitting in there for half its life. Either way I will win...Muahahaha

Sounds like a synchro went bad. They should have the tools to fix it. Tell them to call a Saab dealership to get what they need. They are just jerking you around. The car shouldn't have been sitting there that long and the mechanics should have a good idea of what the problem is.

Call the GM customer service line and see what they have to say. Who knows they may have a way to get that dealership's ass in gear. If not call another dealer and see what they say. If they seem to know what's going on demand that it be sent to that dealer instead for the waranty repair.

Making idle threats on line is beyond dumb, grow up. It's cool to say F GM and all, but threatening to throw sticks of dynomite. And all they have to do is prove you raced and bye bye warranty.

Oh I was so deathly serious with my "idle threat" since I have a huge stockpile of dynomite in my closet. Im quite sure you are the one who needs to grow up my freind if you take a statement that was said symbolically as truth and then coming and trolling this thread. Oh and your opinion means a whole lot to me being as my car messed up and went to the dealer before you even joined this site. Also the day a car with a supercharger and an ss badge and recaro racing seats is not made to be driven at its full power potiential with another car doing the same (aka racing) every now and then, I want someone to go to my closet get one of those sticks of dynomite, light it and throw it at me because hell has froze over. Do you have an ss/sc? Do you drive it like your grandmas buick? Didn't think so.

Thanks bye...

I think that you guys just get the cars built on friday afternoon. Some cars are great, mine has given me almost no problems since new, and it has 18,500 on it now and is almost up to its first birthday. Others, like some corvettes we get in here, are just one problem after another.

I hate when people whip out the monday or friday car card. Ever think that it's a quality assurance issue? I can tell you most of the transmissions are bulk made just like the motors.

hate to qoute something so long... but i had the same problem with my 05'. would be driving on the highway and out of nowhere it would drop out of 5th gear for no reason. and that was right around 18k miles. told the dealership... they said they saw nothing wrong. granite, it only did every other day so maybe they had it on an off day.

You def just got a shitty dealer. There's no reason they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, and replacing the trans would be perfectly acceptable by warranty. The reason GM is telling them they can't is because they haven't diagnosed the problem yet. Take it to a new dealer.

And by the way, there's a difference between racing and abusing a car. GM's defense will be that the car is engineered for spirited driving, not dumping the clutch at 4 grand and winding out every gear a few times a week.

I would tell them to keep it until they find the issue and fix it. After a week in a craptastic loaner I would tell them they probably want to get me a loaner car or start the paperwork to trade me out into a differetn Cobalt SS/SC without the problem, failing that a free stage 2.

Then again I am an older guy... and can sometimes work stuff out like that with dealerships.

I dont know what to say. My car would pop out of 2nd gear from time to time and so i brought it in and they said it was something with the linkage and it hasent done it since. Other than that i have had no problems with mine.

Heres an update...still no news on whats wrong with the car or when it will be fixed i keep thinking 30 days...30 days...

Well I got a call from the dealer and they said I have to take the f150 back to enterprise because they dont pay for ford rental cars. So I take it back and guess what i have now!

An aveo...hatchback. "Sorry we dont have anything else" says the guy behind the counter. "what about that trailblazer?" He says hold on a second...goes back to the office "Someone is picking that up at 4." So im real damn pissed now.

Reply to post at top of page:
(not saying you accused me of such) Ia do not abuse my car at all. I have dropped the clutch once and that was at only 2500-3000 rpm. It is washed every week and waxed every other. I change the oil and filter (myself) every 4000 miles (mobil 1 of course).

I have had it up to my ears...and dont shoot me...I went and looked at a V6 Accord 2 door today. IT was nice...might get it

Im pretty sure they would just look at me and laugh. My dad on the other hand could have it taken care of for sure.
