F23-M86 removal?
hey guys. My input shaft or its bearing have went out and I need to remove the transmission, but the Haynes Manual is vague, at best. Any techs on here capable of giving me a simple how-to?
Car is an 06 Ion 2.4L with the F23-M86 5-speed. Idk what I'm doing lol. I've never worked on a transmission before, but am too cheap to pay to have it done. WAY out of warranty btw.
So far I have the fuse box and PCM removed to make some working room. Cables are removed form both shifter and the transmission. I removed a plug on the driver side that looks similar to an ABS sensor plug (may not be).
I ordered a replacement transmission (tested) from a salvage yard for 230 bucks with 20k on it. Good deal imo. Mine feels locked into 2nd though the shifter is in neutral. I let off the clutch and it stalls and won't shift into any gear. The sooner I can get it back together, the less chance I'll get fired. lol.
Thanks guys (and girls).
