Fogging Projectors

Does anyone else have the problem of your projectors fogging?

Mine fog something horrible, I took out my passenger side light and drained about 300mL of water out of it the other day, which was all from condensation. I figured everyones projectors fogged a little bit, but every picture I see, everyone else's projectors are normal, and I feel more and more that mine are the only ones that do it.

Ya mine fogged too. Be careful, I just took out my passenger one and re-sealed it. Then when I put it back in I noticed there were watermarks inside the lens. May not seem like a big deal, but 30 mins later with the lights on I noticed this watermark acted like a magnifying glass and the lense melted. Just emailed my seller to see what the warranty is on these. Im praying to god they cover it as I havent even had these for a month.

They are aftermarket, and I've had two different pairs now and they've all fogged

Does anyone have a simple solution to this?

Another member suggested drilling vents into the bottom

It is impossible to completely seal them because of the design, I think it'd be better off to Open them up some more, does anyone else have advice on this?

When I get my replacement I will be re-sealing them and checking them over a few times. Wont be putting them on in the winter, just going to run my painted black lights for the winter.

I dont think you want to go drilling holes as thats going to allow for more condensation.

I figured that drilling more holes would allow the air to circulate out and reduce the condensation

I had thought about that too, but I also considered the moisture in the air, im sure it could creep into there. Hard call, I see where your coming from and I think it would work, but im just worried about getting MORE condensation in there. Hell what am I saying, Im worried about getting this light warrantied!!!

Don't buy crappy projectors with cheap plastic lenses.

There's different qualities of polycarbonate, I'd bet they're the worst.

my driver side always fogs up.. It's almost getting to freezing temperatures around here in New York and i'm worried the condensation in the headlight might cause something to crack.. Is that possible?

Most sets of driving and fog lights have a small hole at one side of the housing, near where the lens will slide in. Depending on if you are mounting the bracket to the underside of something, or to the upperside of something, you may have to rotate the lens 180 degrees in the bracket or housing. That small hole should always be on the bottom to allow condensation to drain out.
Even the Hellas Driving lights I just installed have the hole. God I love Hella.

There are lots of small holes at the back, I'm just trying to figure out if I should drill a larger hole in the Bottom of each headlight assembley

i had the same problem w/ my aftermarket angel eye lights for my civic, you gotta take off the light, dry it out w/ a hairdryer, so theres no moisture. then you get some clear silicone cauk *sp* seal that bad boy up. Smear the cauk around where the clear part meets the housing, to make a waterproof seal, if there is any moisture left it should evaporate eventually, and you shouldn't have a fishtank for a headlight anymore, make sure you have a rag and wash your hands quickly when you're done or else it will stick to your hands i'm not sure how long it takes to harden but it should be good w/in a day or so

Well today I drilled a single .25" hole above the turn signal, and two holes below each lens. The driver's side doesnt fog at all very often but the passenger side is horrendous, as soon as i pulled it off the car to drill holes, it immediately drained about a whole cup of water!

I dried out what condensation was left with a blower dryer, and I will report back with my results when I get some
