Fuel Filter ?

Where is the fuel filter on these cars? Mine has 21,000 and haven't been changed yet and it has a little jerk to it when going down the road so I think it's about time to change it.

The jerk to it is the fly-by wire most likely. cruising you would not notice the running out of gas feel. and on acceleration it would feel like you are running out of gas, an engine lean code would come up, and probably other codes. FYI

but I would be interested in find the filter too. I suspect it is in the tank on the sending unit and pump assembly. that is where most are put now a days. and it is likely expensive. a 99 Jeep cherokee is like 250 cdn. it is insane. you dont replace it unless it is plugged in my opinion.

The filter is outside the tank.

fly by wire means that the gas pedal isnt actually connected to the throttle. its done electronically. im pretty sure thats what it means. someone correct me if im wrong.

I think he means drive-by wire. Correct ssnipes?
It is the way the throttle is setup. There isn't a cable. There are 3 sensors that work with each other.
