I have been having occasional hard or slow to start problems and have checked fuel pressure which is around 64 psi not running, while running the needle goes nuts as if this dampener is not working, could this be my problem?

 

The test port is pre dampener, so I would expect some changes. Can't save I've hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to test mine though.

Do you have a way to log during startup?

 

I think my scan tool will log, never have.
