Getting fed up with my cobalt!!!

UGH!! this car is junk!! besides the axels clicking, the annoying idleing is getting pretty intense now, not only does it idle from 200rpm to like 1600 rpm, IT SHUT OFF TODAY!!! wtf is going on with this car? like does it need to go back to chevy for a reflash or something?

You should be able to take it to any dealer. I've had warranty work done by 2 different dealerships.

I'm pretty sure there is a TSB out for the sporatic idle.
Yes you need to have your ECM reflashed.

If you search there are several threads about this.

Good luck!

If your dealer figures out what the clicking is, post what it was if you don't mind. Mine is driving me nuts and is getting worse and have taken it to multiple dealerships and no one at them has a clue.

You can bring it into ANY GM dealership. the dealership gets paid from GM to do the repair.

yea man I had the same problem and I thought it was the axles also, I took it to the dealer and told them hey im getting a clicking/clinking noise coming from my axles or cv joints and they said they would take a look at it, come to find out it was the cradle bolts that were loose, so they tightened them right up and no more clicking...

any dealership will do the repairs but only the dealer you bought the car from will give you a loaner car... well at least from my experience.

Thumbs down Boy oh boy, problems this problems that..

I now have to sit in my car for 15hrs a weekend and this weekend I found a little rubber stopper, I have no clue where it goes but I'm getting tired of having little things break/pop off .. The Cobalt was put together really badly I think I mean all the gaps are better then my Honda was but ya theses little issues are getting ridiculous!!

I notice you S/C guys seem to have alot of issues, not bad ones but annoying just the same.. They said when the new Saturn Ion came out the interior was bad but I think the same can be said for the Cobalt..

I wish auto manufacturers would listen and take ideas from customers instead of some pimple faced little **** that doesn't know how to drive when it comes to designing cars .. Problems this yada yada.. Good luck with your issues

What modifications do you have?

How hard are you driving the car?

So changing the axles got rid of the clicking? But it comes back?

So for the clicking I have gotten the axles, tightening the cradle bolts, CAB, and CV joints. Man this is going to be a pita to figure out.

Interesting.

I would say try and get a reflash but as far as the clicking...no idea why it might be doing that even after you changed the axles.

That little rubber bumper you found is usually part of a door, hood or deck lid. They are in spots to keep the doors from rattling when closed. Look around for obviously missing ones. They can often fall off due to something moving in or out of the open door knocking into it and bumping it off.
