GM STAGE 2 kit back order Please help! lol

I ordered a GM stage 2 kit two days ago from gm parts direct and they sent me an email saying the item was on national back order and I can cancel if I want. But I don't want to cancel if everywhere else is the same way. I don't know if anyone has herd of this and what should I do. I mean it could be two days or 6 months so I was wondering if anyone has herd about this.

no but i would save your money buy injectors pulley and find someone to tune it...it will be safer have more power and save you a ton of money...the 42lb injectors from gm are like 300 and some dollars and they are basiclly maxed out on a stage 2 kit...i have a 3 inch pulley and needed 60s to run safe....imo the canned tune from gm is shit and the injectors and pulley from gm is way over priced...most on here will agree

Safer than a GM Stage kit ?! Not likely, but with a good custom tune I agree you could make more power.

More power but not safer than a GM rune  They will still warranty you're car, so its definitely safer.

But i'd just build your own.

warrenty only last so long what about after that...as long as you custom tune it and the a/f ratio are perfect...youll be safer imo....as long as your not throwing a 2.7 on the eaton or anything like that.

i have 110000 miles on my cobalt so im more worried about being safe and knowing im safe then hoping the gm canned tune does the trick which in my case it didn't due to the exhaust the intake the 42lbs were maxed out above 5500 rpms people dont take into account the bolt ons they have on there car..those things lean you out...the best thing is the get an a/f gauge

Warrenty has nothing to do with it. GM's tune is pretty much the safest tune out there for the car. I'm not saying a custom tune can't be safe. There are plenty of safe and reliable custom tunes on Cobalts, but you can't really think a custom tune will be safer than a tune straight from GM.

What most people don't know is the 42 lb/hr injectors that come with the GM stage kits work fine at high pw/idc's. Also, there is no way you maxed the injectors at 5500 rpm on a GM Stage 2 pulley. The only way you could do that is if you were running a much smaller pulley. Hell, my Stage 3 pulley doesnt start over working the injectors until i get up around 7k rpm.

huh ??

First of all do you know how rich most GM Stage tunes are ?? An intake, and exhaust will not lean you out to the numbers you claim. GM's leanest Stage 2 tune was its 07' version, and that still commanded a 10.8 a/f ratio. There had to be some other issue with your car. It was def. not the GM tune causing you to have those kinds of conditions. I stand by what I say about you not being able to cause your injectors to go static at 5500 rpm on a GM Stage tune with the 77.9mm pulley.

Why are we worried about warranty? The majority of the LSJ's are out of powertrain anyway.

Pretty sure no 07s are, or you drive alot. We have a 5yr/100K warranty. Another reason i picked the 07 over 05-06

Ya I was trying to keep my warranty. I have an 07 and its got under 35,000... I ordered my kit from gmpartsdirect and it was so much cheaper than everywhere else. I got the kit for 626.000 which is the cheapest i've found online...and thats shipped. But they say there is a nat back order

well i was and i dont have a whole lot done to my car...i had everything in my sig cept it was a stage 2 pulley.....dont know why it was so lean or what else could have cuased it cause my car runs great after the tune...and i havent changed anything else since then, runs a lil rich at 10.0....just saying thats why i went to 60s cause my injectors were maxed....just saying i wish i just would have went that route first it was way cheaper and i was happier with it..but like i said get a wideband and you wont have any questions about...just my opinoin....because like they say every car is different...example...mine.
