got e check coming up, got a CEL

got a letter from the BMV saying i gotta get echeck done... i just had a Header/DP combo put on and theres a CEL... theres no change in performance as far as i know. my DP is catted. i from there its stock until the overaxle pipe to magnaflow muffler.... does this qualify to pass? i had autozone check out the CEL and its saying the cat is the problem...

Get the code read man.. If you're referring to Emission and its an Emissions code such as P0420 then you need to get the code disabled via tune. The car thinks something is wrong since the cat is "flowing" more than it normally does. Which trips that CEL.

Did you buy it used..? Cat might be blown out.. Believe it or not I have a 97 Civic goes through the obd2 Check not tailpipe test I had a cel for a cat efficiency low.. I cleared the code went straight there and I passed ... I know its older so if you do that might be able to tell you just cleared it

This is also why I have a Dashhawk. The ability to easily clear codes, etc is such a god send.

il have to look at what auto zone gave me, the cat is brand new and so is the header. could i just unplugg the batter for a ffew mins, woudl that reset the CEL? i cant afford a tune... i cant even afford snow tires. or just new tires in general. let alone other things the car needs right now

try and put some washers on the 2nd o2 sensors to pull it out a little that should make the code go away but if u just clear the codes and they hook it up to a scanner u will fail from the system not being ready from what i know man

maybe you should put your stock back on if you can't afford to mod it....you can get a piece that pulls the o2 a lil out of the straight exhaust stream..

Never tried the washers but a Vibrant 02 defouler I picked up from Modern Performance worked flawlessly for me, and I was catless.
