Hack's Bearings
So I stopped by the garage in my hometown today to get my wheels checked because one of my wheel bearings feels like ****.
They took my car around the block quick, then drove it into the garage. Before they even put the car on the lift, they pop the hood and are peeking at the contents like always
Anyhow, they lift up the car and walk around the outside checking each wheel.
They come back in and tell me that both front bearings are in really rough shape and their supplier wants $306 a peice for each bearing.
So I just told em I'd pick up a pair on the internet and be back when I get them.
Kinda odd for both bearings to go out at the same time, eh?

Yeah it's kinda like a loudish rubbing noise, and sometimes goes away when your turning.
Wheel hop? On a 145hp Automatic car? lol.

I suspect it wont end up paying much more than a couple hours of labor, but I might end up just doing them myself with the help of a couple friends

no its very easy to do yourself. KI think if you just buy the bearings you need a press to get them in, but you can buy the whole hub assembly (my blazers hub was like 140ish i think) I figured it out on my own in a matter or 2 or 3 hours, most problems were that I didnt have a giant socket for the middle bolt.

I will probably do them myself. My bearings are in REALLY bad shape.
My car sounds like a ******* helicopter driving down the road

Just go to autozone and tell them the make of your car and say you need an axle socket, they will get you one. it will be like 7-10bucks, thats what I did for my blazer. Someone here might also know the size off hand.

You'll probably need a breaker bar to get the nut loose. Oh, and be sure to break it loose before jacking it up. I'm not sure what wheels you have on there, but you could always put the spare on if your regular wheel doesn't have an opening for the hub.
I've gotten a few loose in the junkyard by sticking a big screwdriver through the caliper and into the fins of the brake rotor to keep the rotor and hub from spinning; however those cars are usually terribly rusty. Yours should be pretty easy.

it'd be nice if the axle socket is 32mm. i bought that in order to change the oil filter...but i'm sure it's not the same.
changing my left wheel hub tonight...wheel hub assembly cost me $223 shipped from CED.
