HELP! Car died
HELP! Car died
I just got off work, 12 hour shift, it was raining and some ice drizzle. anyway, i left the parking lot everything was fine, and all of a sudden car just starts shaking and when i let off the throttle it turned off. barely stays on by giving it throttle.
Its a 2006 SS SC only mod is a k&n typhoon..
Any quick answers or suggestions?
(once before, a similar problem happened by driving over deeper water and had to wait till it dried out so i dont know if thats whats happening somehow.)

You don't have to run over water. You can still suck it water from kick up from the wheels, well, if your wheel liner is as shitty as mine
But it's still the best place to start. Then clean the TB
Take it from me. I completely ruined one MAF. Then got another one wet, but it was salvagable. The 20$ Shield is well worth it. A MAF is like 70$ from Autozone. 20$>70$ Plus the piece of mind. It was worth it to me.
3 days later, i changed the spark plugs since i believe the car was misfiring..
2 spark plugs were pretty badly burned, maybe the coils or the fuel pump is bad since it wont keep on?
the problem is still there.. its reving itself on idle for a few minutes then dies. got white smoke. any ideas?

Well white smoke usually means there's coolant getting into the combustion chambers. Running rough like you said would definitely be a symptom. Once the car's cooled off, open your oil cap on the top and see if there's a white film on the inside of the cap and see if the coolant has gone down at all in both the radiator overflow and the heat exchanger overflow.
Not ruling the MAF sensor theory out, but usually something like that would produce black smoke from the excess fuel and would throw engine codes.
