HELP! Headlight won't fit back into bracket...

I recently went to replace a bulb in my driver's side headlight. When I went to put the headlight back into it's place, it wouldn't fit.

The prongs on the bottom of the headlight assembly don't line up.
In order for me to bolt the headlight back on, the bottom prongs on the headlight sit on top of the bracket (instead of the prongs sliding into the bracket, like they're supposed to).

Is there some way to adjust the bracket to make it fit properly?
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Just gotta be patient and work it back into place. I've had to remove and reinstall the headlights a couple times and it's always a fight.

it's funny, my driver side light ALWAYS slides right in no problem but the pass side is ALWAYS a fight to get it in like they've said you just need to get patient because if you get rammy with things that's when it goes bad

I've done this several times to both sides of my car with minor hiccups but, this time I can not get it to fit properly. I don't know what the problem is. I just can't get this to fit...

If you really can't, unbolt the bracket and reseat it.

Reseat it and then try to fit the bracket and headlight assembly in together?
Is that what you mean?
Doesn't seem to me like that'd work... but idk
Anyone ever tried this method?

No, haha. Just like maybe the bolts holding down the bracket are torqued differently/whatever and making the bracket sit weird, resulting you not being able to get your headlight in straight.

Just unbolt it, pick it up, reposition, and bolt back down.

Oh ok. Thanks for the suggestion but, I have already tried that without success...
I'm begining to think I'll never get this headlight to fit correctly.

I always popped the clips for the grill so I can move the lights around and position them properly. With this trick I can get both lights in and out in less than 5 minutes.don't worry about the grill as long as you don't go cranking on it you won't break it.

am i the only one that finds it kind of funny to hear that a headlight, that was previously in there properly and snug, was removed for a bulb. and now because it won't go back in "something needs to be adjusted! it won't fit!" well it was in there before you took it out lol... and nothing was changed. i hope you got it back in by now.

Make sure the large electrical plug isn't in the way of it seating. I've had that issue before.

You might have broken the guide clips on the bottom of the light. Check them out and let me know. I have beautiful OEM lights I wanna get rid of.

If its giving you that many problems take the bumper cover off itl be real easy then it not hard couple screws bunch of clips if not undo a couple clips near the the light and have a helper hold it out of the way enough to have some wiggle room I got so pissed off the last time I had to do this I forgot the old light bulb on the battery box and got a nice point in my hood now moral of the story calm down take your time if you can't get it start removing stuff till you can get it in any way it goes it will be a pain in the ass
