so were sitting here with the front of joeys car in pieces trying to hook up his hids..

when we hook up the wiring harness we feel like we have an extra plug, and no where to put it. needless to say it isnt lighting up.

we need help.. ASAP

caution: we'll bump this every five minutes until its fixed.. lol.

and then he's just chillin by himself. thats the plug from the hids that would originally go to the ballasts without the wiring harness.
but we dont know where it goes?

if we unplug the wiring harness and plug the hid plug to the ballasts, its works fine.

well wouldnt that one plug into the other ballast? sorry your pics kinda confuse me. maybe if you could get a pic without everything so close.

well, theres a plug on either side of the wiring harness that plugs into the ballast.
then we have the plug from the hid that would normally plug into the ballast thats just sitting there with nothing to plug into.

From the few kits I've installed that would plug to the other ballast?

 

the fog light wirres stay with the foglight and the wire that your not knowing goes to your hid wiring harness

 

well theres one of those plugs on either side of the wiring harness.
so each goes in to the ballast, correct?
leaving the plugs that would normally connect to the ballast going where?

 

what kit do you have and what kind of headlights are they going in?

i've been calling it a wiring harness, but i mean relay harness.
i've installed hids before, but never used a relay harness.

 

if it is for a fog light kit then why are there relays? it should be just strait power from each fog light plug to the ballast

You use a relay to prevent the stock wiring from melting from the larger current draw of the ballasts.

 

Went there. All it did was show us how to hook it to power and ground.
Trust me we were on buyhid.com for forever.

The picture directly above STEP 1 shows you exactly where to put the connector you are asking about....

 

Each end plugs into a ballast, but that leaves two plugs that would normally plug into the ballasts just hanging there. Plus this had to pin connectors that the diagram didn't show.
