help- wheelhop or just traction control?

Hi there,

The last two weeks, I experienced something which is either wheelhop or the traction control system kicking in while accelerating from a dead stop. The first time was when it was slightly wet, and the 2nd time was when it was almost dry (but had rained like 12 hours before) on the road. I did not give it full throttle and I could hear the tires gain traction (after spinning slightly I assume) like 1 second after I was giving it medium throttle. I guess it was around 2k-3k that I was letting out the clutch.

Is this wheelhop or is it just traction control kicking in or wheelspin? Thanks in advance

if you have a turbo ss. the traction control light will blink when its active.
if you have any other cobalt, you dont have active traction control.

also, wheel hop will sound / feel like your engine is going to smack the firewall and your dash seem like it will snap in half

as stated, unless you have a turbo ss, or an automatic, you have no traction controll. it wil be wheel hop, every cobalt suffers from it. the only real fix is a set of OTT performance rotated transmission mounts. they are the only thing that stops the wheel hop dead.
