Hesitation/Backfire

hey guys,

Running intense stage 4, 9500 miles. Boosting from 5-10lbs im getting a hesitation/backfire sound, the same sound that you get while going down a hill without your foot on the gas, just the popping. Any ideas? cat, plugs?

The tune is not for the weather but i dont even gun it and this is happening.

Thanks,
Ryan

i mean it doesnt sound BAD, but it hesitates and boost seems to stay up. I drove the Car 2000 miles to FL, let it sit for a week and next time i drove it, it started this. I filled it up with new gas so....

You ever hear what a WRX sounds like... if your car starts sounding like that... = bad news man..
if not and your not blowing oil though the intake, or you plugs arent' melted you might be ok

plugs are 15ft/lbs
or you can hand tighten them, then turn 1/8 to 1/4 turn more with a wrench.
be sure to use the antiseize, its a cheap preventive measure

yea really the only thing stopping me from pulling them now is i need to run and get some anti-seeze

does the SS aeroforce gauge prevent your check engine light from coming on when a code is thrown?

I didnt have a cel but i checked the DTC's on aeroforce and had these 3 numbers

PO172
PO300
PO507

The first is the fuel trims being too rich and second is a misfire I think. I'm not sure of the third without looking it up. You might wanna get that retuned.

Edit: third is idle speed too high.

yea im actually getting it retuned this weekend thanks to DOC, hopefully this will clear everything up. I will swap out plugs before hand if i can, if not ill bring some.

I did a search and everyone with these problems seemed to find the problem was the plugs.

I really hate this tune lol kits great but universal tune isnt a good idea imo.

live & learn i guess.

Should i get some colder plugs than what come with intense's kits? Doc, does the shop were going to sell plugs?

Thanks,
Ryan

What would oil in the intake mean? I did notice abit of oil in my intake tube and sometimes(only happen about 4 times) when I am pulling hard in 3rd, it will kinda backfire or hesitate or something. Also when I change my plugs last, the #1 cyl plug looked kinda burnt, the other 3 look ok. Like I said, this rarely happen to me, might be nothing, Its only happen in the winter when its really cold also.
