how to tell if my ic pump is broke

so i been having little heating issues so i noticed that the coolant isnt flowing threw the neck by the supercharger.so i researched what i could find and jumped the fuse to see if i hear it turn on and when i did nothing happened.so i went and hit it with a hammer and it started to make like a spinning noise for over 10 seconds and then it would stop.

so how can i tell for sure if its not working

take the cap off ur filler neck, puor coolant in, have someone start the car, and see if the coolant jumps out at you lol, or if the coolant moves at all, but have the cap off the whole time

Go under the car and smack the IC pump with a hammer and check if it's wired properly (I guess some of them were wired wrong from the factory). It works as a temporary fix. OTTP sells new ones.

Joel

Edit : Just re-read thread and it says you smacked it already. Make sure its wired up right though.

eh. I'll just hit it again.. they act like your engine will blow up, but you will just have limited boost, then ill change it.

thats normal man. you need to be worried if they get up around 220 or higher and stay there. theyll stay low if you are moving because of the increased air flow

bad thermostat? which has no relation to your IC pump.

if your iats are too high it will -10% boost (or w.e) possibly timing too.
if you turn the key too on with the engine off after you drove it for a bit, you should here a high pitch whine and coolant bubbling at the neck

yea the coolant temp on ur dash is for the engine
the ic pump cools the sc system, not your engine
the coolant in the ball shaped container to the right of the engine bay is what cools your engine...
so if your sc system gets too hot then your boost will fall and you will have a constant herat soak...
