How to Tighten Top Bolt on Header Downpipe?

Hi all,
Shops want me to book 2 weeks out for replacing the triangle gasket in my Vibrant downpipe/mid-length header combo. I simply can't wait.

I have no issues jacking up the car and removing 2 of the 3 bolts on either side of the bottom of the triangle flange between the header and downpipe. As some as you may be aware, the bolt at the top center of the triangle has extremely limited space, we're talking 3 inches or so of space and I can't for the life of me get it off. I had to lower the car, quite the **** off.

This being said I was wondering how a shop would go about getting this off? I think a long extension socket (8" or so) might work? Or perhaps a toque stick on an impact wrench? If you've taken this bolt off I could really use your advice.

Thanks!

If I understand what you're talking about a swivel and a extension will do the trick for that bolt

I am talking about the infamous "top bolt", god damn this design. If there was just an extra 2 inches around the downpipe it'd be simple as ever. I will investigate using a swivel and an extension, thanks for the advice.

Couple extensions and a swivel will get you there. Also try to remove it when the bolt is warm not hot or cold.

Thank you, after skinning my knuckles and bleeding, I appreciate the encouragement, it WILL work. I'm sure you've had that feeling!

I would like to confirm the gasket I am buying is correct, it seems to fit perfectly. It's Vibrant part # 1462, does anyone have experience with the LSJ mid-length header? If so, right gasket? I can't find any other, they simply sell them in generic size like 2.5" etc.

Thanks again
