I Need Help With My Sc Asap...

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OR GIVE ME SOME INFO OR ADVICE?????

I have had a problem 3 or 4 times now with my car just randomly shutting off. It happened twice to me, then i took it in and they replaced the crankshaft position sensor. Well, guess what it did it again today. They said they had fixed it but i guess not. I am so sick and tired of this...When it happens, my tach and speedometer completely shut off and my car just dies, no power at all... It usuallt happens in going from first to second, and from second to third which happened today...Im so confused..The car hardly runs, so i shut it off and try starting it up and it still wont idle any, maybe for a couple seconds then shuts off. Wait 10-15 minutes then it starts up but throws a cel....Any advice will be very appreciated.....BTW I searched and couldnt find anything that was related.....any qusetions on the information i wrote, or if you want to know more, just ask me, i might have left something out.....Thanks in advance..

your cat getting to hot i believe that is one thing that could cause it makes it go into protection mode

Kinda sounds like your cat is going or is almost gone so go catless or get a high flow one to replace it but make sure that is what it is and do you have cooling mods and how hot does your car get temp wise

I dont have any cooling mods yet!

I would think that a decent tech wouldn't overlook this... but you never know. If your tranny mount were bad it could cause a strong knock on the crank pos sensor and make it think you have a bad misfire... but I'm pretty sure this wouldn't throw it into limp mode or make it die

Just take it back and hope they get it right this time. Otherwise take it to a different dealer to look at it.
Thanks, would my poly tranny mounts cause this or not?

No cooling mods and 2.7 pully and 60lb in that is a talking about making heat and not being able to cool down have you check your coolent levels just curious but you should be ok if you are stock stage 2

yea im with killerbee in this one if you have installed that 2.7 and 60's with no cooling mods your looking for a world of trouble but if your still just stage 2 even with the 2.9 pulley you should be fine cooling wise...on the other hand there is a big chance its a clogged cat creating alot of unwanted heat sending your car into protection mod and shutting it off till it cools...this happened to me once when my car was stock with just a catback while shifting from 2nd at high RPM's to 3rd it threw a CEL when it finally turned back on so i called and had an appointment set up with GM and the CEL went away on the way there so they couldnt help me this was about 7 months ago tho now and eevrythings fine...check your cat if thats it go high flow (to pass inspection) or catless and just throw the stocker on for inspection...also check your coolant level and i would suggest putting in watter wetter and a dual pass if its not that cat... (o and this has happened to many people with there car shutting off usually for them it was a clogged cat) how many mile you have on your car?
sorry for writing a book just trying to give you options goodluck

EDIT: there has been people on the site that there cat went in 5000 miles or a little less!

o and if your tranny mounts werent installed correctly or they are f'ed up they could creat a hardnock on the crank POS and throw a CEL not sure that woudl cause it to go into Protection/limp more tho...

the only other thing i can thing of off hand it that GM didnt tune your car right while installing the Stage 2 and its overheating(if you still have the GM stage 2) if you have the 60's and 2.7 you might need a better tune and without a doubt cooling mods there essential for this setup

I dont have 60lbs or a 2.7 pulley at all, i have a 2.9 pulley but it has been sitting in my room since i bought it. I just have a catback and intake, not putting the 2.9 on till i get stage 1...

they already replaced the ckp sensor.

it sounds like what a bad ignition module would do. car runs fine cold... then get's hot and dies... let it cool down... starts back up. Might run a little rough, then die when it gets hot again.

worth checking it out.

Could be your mounts causing the phantom knock and misfiring and your engine is going into protection mode because there is so much vibration near the ck sensor..
Just a guess ,I thought I read somewhere about the mounts causing this if they are to stiff.

I had this happen to me once... I left the supermarket drove about 1/2 a mile (driving nice) and the freakin thing just shut off. Lucky, I did not panic an rolled into a nearby parking lot.... the car would not restart...called my buddy w/ an SC and it had happened to him before... he told me to take the key out of the ignition wait a few minutes and then restart.... and it did!!!

I called CED (where I take my car for service) and they told me it was probably BAD GAS, I'm like
I was using Shitco (Citgo) and they (CED) recommended that I run SHELL (all the time).... I have never had a problem since.
Apparently, these cars a very sensitive to the quality of fuel used....and I won't be saving those extra few pennies
hopefully this simple fix will help

I have been using Mobil as of recent since the last stall out like that, and the car has been running a lot better.
