The 07 is going to have SAI, so unless it is a K&N you won't be able to attach that. It will fit, but you will throw a CEL .

SAI is secondary air injection. look it up in the search. there are a bunch of guys, me included trying to figure ways around this. basically its for emissions and puts fresh air in your exhaust. if you dont have the right fitting for you SAI then you will have a CEL (check engine light) Halfcent will come in here and correct that it really isnt a CEL but a Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) just means the computer is picking up something wrong with the engine but may not be a real bad problem.

Look up SAI and you will find most of what you are looking for.

Basically if the cold air intake is a K&N brand it will work because it has an adapter. If not you will trip a CEL or you can put a filter on the exhaust manifold where the SAI plugs in so you do not pull dirty air into the exhaust. I am still trying to get a feel for adapting a GMPP intake to make it fit SAI, But i just have not had the time to do it yet.

there's a few stickies at the top of the 2.2 performance section. they should answer all your questions! and welcome to the site.

not all 2007's have the SAI.

Mine doesnt. I am also trying to determine if a 2006/2005 fixture will fit in the 07's

I have heard that not ALL 07's have SAI. look at the sticky in the 2.2 section and see if you have the tube for SAI. If you don't you can get any intake you want. they will all fit. If you do have SAI the only one currently have a hook up is the K&N

I have thought of adapting the GMPP intake but I have also just heard of a way of deleting SAI which might become and option now as well.

benefits? to us none. it is for emissions purposes. basically flushes cold air into your exhaust at startup to burn off left over gases.

for us all it does is limit what we can do to the car. Check out the sticky or just put SAI into the search I think dust and I have made a few hundred posts each about SAI

The GMPP Performance Intake will fit 07 Cobalts with 2.2s that don't have the Secondary Air Injection! You don't have to take my word for it -- it is listed in the 07 Chevy accessory catalog. If it didn't fit, Chevy would say so in their catalog instead of listing it for the 07s.
