Unhappy LSJ Is down

So 2 Sundays ago i was coming home from work. When a s2k got next to me on the freeway in mexico. I know Don't street race but i did my stupidity. So i was going 80 dropped to 3rd and gassed it got like a car on him. then i missed 4th and that was that. I start slowing down and 4th gear wont go in. i tried then it went in but it was second and it red lined bad. After that cel lights started to go off and ultra gauge started beeping. The car started to sound like a subi and when i gave it gas got some smoke. it was shaking and bucking a bit. After that i pulled over and i towed it home. When i got home i checked for oil leaks nothing and oil isn't cloudy or anything. Car still starts but sound like subi, it shakes it bit, and some smoke come out.

I know it my stupid driver error fault but any help would be appreciated. Anyone has any idea what it is or might be? or where i should start? going to check plugs and coil packs and remove valve cover next week.

Do a compression/leak down test...

Also pull the valve cover and inspect for any messed up lifters, and or followers. The follower is what you see in the photo above.

LSJ Is down

Also by a wierd margin could be a spark plug gave out or an injector. Be sure to check those as well but valve cover is easier to take off than the fuel rail anyway lol

Good luck

Subaru mod on these cars means you overreved and popped a lash adjuster or rocker.

Pop the valve cover off and see if any are disconnected. its pretty easy

depends on the damage you caused. Could be as easy as popping the lash adjuster back in and then you are g2g....or you could of bent valves in the head causing a full head rebuild at around 800$ if you don't do it yourself.

So last time I posted the Balt was down was back in sept. I finally got the car to the shop it a friends shop so I know it's legit. So they said the 2nd cylinder spark plug broke inside the piston. It cause damage inside and a piece went in the motor. So I guess I need a new or used engine.

Ok just an update. Getting a used lsj motor it's on it way getting 1year warranty on it. The did compression test all is good. So I was going to turbo it but since I have to buy a new motor that's on hold for now. So I'm getting a stage kit from ottp with 80s and 2.9 pulley, dual pass, clutch & fly wheel, upgraded tob and new rotors. Well else that is not to much more expensive should I do? I have a credit with them since I was doing payment for a turbo kit. Any other things I should get since the motor is out?

Where did you get a used LSJ motor with warranty? A friend needs a rebuild badly.

This is why you do not kiss rev limiters on the Ecotecs.

I'm sorry idk it was a ship in Florida I believe is where the motor is coming from. My friend does insurance work so that's how I got the warranty on the engine.
