LSJ Throwing P0449

My car (2006 IRL) has been throwing a P0449. I replaced the solenoid under the hood next to the valve cover and cleared the code, but it came back. What should my next plan of action be?

Purge valve. On canister under car. If you still get a cel, look for a leak within the evap system

that code is for a vent solenoid control circuit........the part you replaced under the hood is the purge solenoid and would not cause this dtc to set. You need to check the power and ground circuit to the canister vent valve (back by the fuel tank) and if the circuits test good you need to replace that vent valve.

so you cleared the code and it came back?

You need to check the power and ground circuit to the vent valve.

well, if there was a leak in the evap system....it is possible that the code would set since the system would not hold a vaccum.

well, if that like is broken.....I assume it is from the charger to the purge solenoid is broken.....when the purge solenoid opens there would be no engine vaccum available at the solenoid to pull vaccum on the evap system......which would show a leak (basically). But to make sure they are working if you wanted to check the ciruicts you would use a multi meter or even a test light.....
