My car got smashed into

At 5:30 last wednesday I was coming off the 406 offramp onto glendale ave. (pen centre). There is a red light there so I stop behind someone. My foot was on the brake as I came to a stop and WAM someone smashes into me from behind sending me into the car in front of me. All I hear is screaming right away as I am disoriented. After a minute I come out of the car and see the other car is completely totalled and is under my back end.

The girl hit the bottom of my back end and went under the car. her car was crumpled up at the hood and her windshield was blown out. The rear view mirror was on the hood of the car. There were at least 5 people in the car (the lady in front of me says she saw 6 people and one ran).

So I get it towed to the dealer and next morning take pics of my car and call insurance yada yada. I get a rental car (ford fusion :S).

Now my freakin neck is killing me. A constant pain, not a pain from moving it. Though I don't really move it to much right now because I don't want to hurt it more.

Here's some pics I took. The damage doesn't look too bad but the underneath I have no clue what the damages are like.

So that's my story. I'm just pissed all this happened. I worked so hard to buy a nice car and boom it all gets messed up by a young girl driving a shitty parents car who most likely was goofing around or just not able to see cars ahead. OR the actual driver fled the scene like the other lady said.

I see the airbags didn't deploy.. of course it would only for a front end accident but still your head I bet met either the windshield or the steering wheel. I bet that had to hurt..

hopefully the neck pains are just muscle spazmes from the shock of the accident...with a little time and effort they go away, hence why I say I HOPE that is what they are. And ehh screw the car, you are gonna get all new nice pieces for free! well...maybe like $500...I don't know the rule on deductibles if you are NOT at fault.

Hopefully it can be fixed. Cause I put a bit of money into it and getting a new car is nice...that means doing all that **** over again.

I need to go cruisin once I get it back. I'm getting annoyed with the fusion already. It's suppose to have 160 hp...maybe it's just cause it's automatic but it feels like nothing.

My deductible here is like 100 bucks haha. It's no fault on my part. My insurance company covers the costs up to a certain amount (ends up being cheaper to do it like that)

You're not liable for the damage to the car in front of you?

Sorry to hear about this. I've been in a wreck with almost the same circumstances, cept it was a stop sign instead of a red light. The truck was totaled, upside down in a ditch, but I walked away without a bruise, so always be thankful you're able to walk away from things like this.

and another SS/SC takes it in the rear... join the club man... was it raining by chance?

I got smacked in the rear like that in a similar situation... not as much damage though...

anyways... the rear ends of these cars are pretty resilient... new bumper and lip will fix you up.. looks like it's time for a CF trunk and the GMPP exhaust... or get a wingless trunk put on by the dealer.

It does suck to get hit... and I do hope you get your neck fixed... the car should be ok... and on the bright side, you should get some free mods out of it.

feel better! and theres a saying from a great man known as Dane Cook
"Why did you stop at a red light and let me hit you doing 80!?"
But Cobalts/Redlines seem to be kick ass in accidents. im glad she wasnt going fast enough to hurt you more or worse smash into the gas tank.

haha thanks guys.

I was close to getting an exhaust in there. Thank god I didn't do anything just yet. Now that I have school paid off, i'm going to see about some mods. I need winter tires though first. Damn winter!

It was not raining. Was a really nice day. The biotch was just not paying attention or just can't judge distances. It would have all been worth it if the person did come out of the car yelling "Why were you stopped at a red light letting me hit you from behind doing 80!" (clearly wasn't going 80)

I miss the car already. Driving automatic is getting very boring.

Damn Your Car look Bad But all that matters is that your OK.

And I am complaining about a little dent in my door.

What did the person that rearended you have to say about the whole accident.

I love to hear what kind of story they had come up with.

At first the girl said the brakes didn't work. Which is a complete lie because coming off a highway I would be dead. There were no tire marks so she didn't slam on her brakes.

Once she hit me all I heard was screaming and crying. The one passenger girl was hit with airbag and was crying. The driver seemed fine for being hit by the airbag. WHICH makes be believe there was another driver who fled the scene. That's for the police to find (probably won't).

I need to speak to a lawyer soon. Some people are telling me not to settle right now. If they throw 10 grand at me I might be inclined to say yes. Being a student that money would help alot. I could use 1/4 for mods and the rest to just sit to pay off car and for gas. I'll have to update on all of that though. It's hard to get mods when you have school bills racking up interest.

ADD:

I just called. My car is being fixed. They are just ordering new parts for most things. The front headlights were cracked. Trunk floor was crumpled up. They said I should have it back by next friday. Almost 2 weeks more without the car. at least I get a new front and back end of the car.

It would be kind of funny if they slap a badge on it again haha. I would freak out. That Brian Cullen tag was such a bitch to get off.
