Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

My setup's reliability

Just curious how reliable my car is with this setup. I would much like old schoolers to respond, especially ones who have blown their cobalts up.

hardware:

42#s injectors
2.8 pulley
Cobra H/E
Full exhaust + header
Methanol injection

specs:
11.8-12.0 AFR
25 degrees of timing WOT
89% IDC @ 7000 RPM
Custom Shutoff if EGTs hit 1500+ degrees

60's
Injectors can get a bit pissy if you put them over 80% IDC too often.

If you don't bag on the car, then there isn't too much of a problem, though.

Besides that... as long as your timing isn't too radical, you shouldn't have any problems with popping a piston.

I dont understand how it can be too radical when the computer uses KR to reduce it. I beat on the car quite a bit. Ive been considering 60s however i dont want to do that headache just yet.

thx for the response

The car may reduce timing when it sees knock... but there lies a deadly problem... it must knock first. It only takes one time, in the wrong situations to cause a fatal detonation.
