Name that creak/clunk!!!

2007 SS/SC.

Issue : front end noise on take off and slow rolling. (under 35mph)

I thought it was an axle, so I replaceed it. Noise still there.

It sounds like its coming from the drivers side, almost under my feet.

Both axles new, both side end links replaced. Powell CABs

Any thoughts? Need any additional info?

It could be the steering rack, or something else. Did you do anything to your car lately or did it just happen?

My steering rack makes noise. Lol. Everytime I go over a decent size bump I get a nice clunkl noise.

Ok. So I took all Of this advice to the hoist today. Everything was tight. Or brand new! Lol

Sooooo.... The obvious finally hit me in the face, and I wish I had taken a pic......

I have Powells CABs in the car, so I didn't thnk it could be them. And sure enough, it wasnt.

The bushing Had come out of the control arm!!!

I hit a pot hole before I parked the car last winter, and I think it did more damage to the control arm than I thought...... Go fig.

Mine does this. At first when I lowered my car I had to replace the sway bar links... one was clunking really bad on the right side. Now a little later after its been fine its making another noise, not exactly sure what it is this time. I've yet to check my endlinks again... but it's definitely doing this.

I just tugged on my new endlinks... couldn't get them to make any sound... **** I'm not sure. I've noticed everything 'feels' a little off. I can feel it in the steering wheel and the clutch pedal a bit I find. I really notice it when going over bumpy surfaces slowly. For example the dirt parking lot at the beach... I really feel and hear it there. Its strange though... it doesn't feel quite the same as when one of my endlinks was bad.

EDIT: Something feels loose in the steering. Doesn't feel quite as solid as it did before. Still haven't got my car aligned after lowering it and I need to get my tires balanced... So I guess I'll see what's up after that's solved.

Do they make moog ones for SS/tc? Couldn't find any, only for 2.2 and 2.4

And you won't feel it unless you raise the car to take all the stress off the sway bar and then shake them

A set of Moog sway bar bushings is always a good idea.

Update: you really only notice the rattling...

1. At low parking lot speeds when over bumps.
2. Loose surfaces make a huge difference. It rattles and knocks lot a **** on surfaces like gravel.
3. You can feel it in the steering wheel and clutch pedal.
4. If you turn the steering wheel while not moving it makes a knock as soon as you get to the middle (center wheels atraight) position. It will do this eveytime.

Any clues? I'm taking it to the dealership and I'm worried they won't figure it out.

Edit: also the steering wheel feels kinda 'loose' at parking lot speeds too.
