ok so i was drive my car tonight and everything was fine. i shut my car off for about 15mins...then i start it back up and i dont have power steering, windshield wipers, and my airbag light is on. i know it is a fuse i know what on i put a new on in and it keeps blowing does anyone know why or how to fix it. it would help me greatly thanks

 

sounds like a short if u keep blowing the fuse

 

ya i know but where? its the fues under the hood and its a 20amp

 

take it to the dealer if u can. DO NOT put in a bigger fuse. you would have to trace back the wires. what were u doing before you turned it off? driving wise?

If ur blow'n tha fuses under tha hood, let tha dealer deal with it. U might be look'n at a bigger problem that u just can't see.

 

that is probably why this happened.. something came loose or shifted and pinched a cable or something. dealer would be the only option unless u want to rip apart your electrical system

Might have been that "Jet" chip that's so damn good for your 2.2L's performance.

 

yup, if you're blowing the fuse.....a wire is shorting to ground, need to find out which circuit it is and repair the wire.


Do you have any aftermarket electircal things on the car??/ Lights, gauges, etc.?

 

You didn't say what fuse it was but I found this preliminary info bulletin.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
A customer might complain that their power steering system is in "Default mode" and/or their Steering Wheel Radio Controls are inoperative. A condition has been identified through TAC cases that there is a common area for a wiring Short To Ground (STG) that could cause the EPS/STR Wheel control fuse to open.

Recommendation/Instructions:
There are two locations for wiring concerns:

First check for a STG in circuit # 1539 (PNK) wire behind the radio. This circuit has reportedly been shorted on the radio mounting bracket, and just below the radio bracket almost to the BCM mounting location.
Note: For ease of locating this STG remove the radio, HVAC control head, and the upper console trim panels and inspect for wiring/brace contact.

Second check for a STG in circuit # 339 (PNK) wire behind the drivers side air bag.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
