Need some help

Ok, so where to start off...I installed some aftermarket rotors (slotted and dimpled) with pads about 2 weeks ago. Everything was great the first week and half then tuesday I noticed a clicking coming from the left front wheel.

This clicking noise only occured above 30ish mph and didn't get much louder but stayed there with more speed. The weird thing was it was only there when i was on the gas pedal. As soon as I would let off, it would go away. Well I never had time to get to it because of a busy work week. Yesterday, I go to get food and notice the clicking is nonexistant...wierd. Well I get my food and on the way back to base, I notice the clicking is still there...barely but what scared me is there's some chatter now from the same area and I can feel it a little in the steering wheel.

Well today I had to go to my grandfathers birthday so I drove it again there, all the same thing, except the chatter is a little worse. I get there and have my uncle look at it without jacking it up. He's not sure so he drives with me and thinks it's the CV Joint..... He's not completely sure though being we need to jack it up and take a better look. Well heres my problem. Should I drive it like this to his house 10 miles away and look at it and fix something that may be simple....OR...not risk doing any more potential damage to my car and take it to the dealership monday morning after work? Also, I can only go about 40mph now to keep the shaking somewhat tolerable, lol.

Any Info and advice is appreciated. Also, if it matters, my mods that I can see causing this in anway would be my EBC rotors and pads and I'm lowered on progress springs. Thanks again guys, I would really like to get it fixed before the week ends so I can see family this weekend.

I work for Les Schwab, so we see this alot. Without looking at it, i could tell you it probably is a CV joint. There could be another possibility...when you did the pads, did your replace the calipers too or JUST the pads?

It was only the pads. Stock calipers still on. We triple checked to make sure all the bolts on the calipers were tight. If it's the CV joint, the only way for that to go, is to hit a good pothole right? I'm not to sure. I just want to be prepared that if its because of my springs or rotors, I'll have the money to fix it, lol.

Did you put the rattle clips back in with your pads? It could be your pads rattling on your caliper bracket.

I did put the clips back on. I was thinking that could of been it but wouldn't of started the day I installed them? Maybe one came out? I'm not sure if one of those being gone can give my car the shakes like it has right now.

this was going to be my next post. it is VERY common that the clips come lose after being installed. check them again and make sure that they're tight.

Got it fixed this morning. Ended up being the clip came out so it was the pad rattling around. I can't believe a loose pad can make the car feel so terrible, lol. Luckily though we didn't see any damage to the pad and rotor. Were still trying to figure out how it progressively got worse. Oh well, drives fine now and didn't have to pay a dime, lol. Thanks for all the help guys.
