Never let friends drive...

I let my buddy drive my balt to my house. So this little pos leggy ricer fly bys us. Next thing I know, were blowing past him, and I hear the rev limiter 3 times, and the tach hits 0 but the car is still on... none of the gears would catch, and if they did, when we shifted, it'd not catch again. We pull over and let the car sit, of course it instantly cuts off. Tried restarting it once, rpms bounce and cut off. Waited for 5my minutes, turn the car on, and its running fine. Buy now i'm hearing a whistling sound over 4k rpm at WOT. Wtf happened? Is something broken?

Haha I can't believe your friend would do that, unless this is all a lie just cause your embarrassed about pegging the limiter so badly, but uh, what kind of balt do you have, and is the limit stock or raised?

i cant see anything going wrong after bouncing off the lmiter 3 times when your 100% stock. there must of been an on-going problem that was never taken care of and doing this pushed it "over the edge." our slow moving tachs dont help none.

Great, now you know what the problem is. Read the code.

Yeah, I learned this lesson after my best friend almost launched my car over a traffic median. Doesn't stop her from asking to drive it every damn time we go anywhere.

Could be an intake leak. I'd check your intake for leaks as they would cause whistling, CELs and erratic fueling/corrections (bouncing idle).

CEL code p0420. It seems like the car is down even more horsepower then it was. Plus my boost gauge goes to 12work instead of 10. Sounds likebmy bypass is staying open.

Sounds like a plan. I was planning on getting a header anyway. I smell a full exhaust setup in my near future. Smells like sliced dolphin. Forgot to mention, it's Bank 1
