Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

Newbie question...

Newbie question...

I'm new to this but I was wondering if somebody could shed some light on a problem of mine seeing as to how I couldn't find a straightforward answer....so the other night I was attempting to leave my school parking lot when all of a sudden my CEL came on with a message saying that my engine power is reduced. I took it up to a dealership nearby today and they claimed that my ECM needs to be replaced.

The only mods that I have is a GM stage 2.

So my main question is: Will they be able to reload my stage 2 reflash onto the new ECM or will I have to just buy one?

They are technically able to transfer it. When they program the ECU they have to call GM techline to get the proper flash for your car. They had to do that when the stage 2 was installed, so they could get the same calibration you already had. I would make them aware of it though, they may have to ask specifically for it.

Make sure you remind them to! Otherwise they will probably give you the Stock OEM Flash/program. They do that to Modded cars they get in before resale
