No torque/power in 1st and 2nd on a 2.2l
Hey all, been a while since I posted. I've got a 2007 2.2l L61 manual with ~76k miles that rescently started acting up. I've search around but just can't find any definitive answer to my problem. When I am in 1st and 2nd gear there is almost no to very little power. As soon as I throw it into third or higher it takes off just fine but 0 to 40 mph takes about 20 seconds in the first two gears. Now there are no CEL codes of any kind that are being thrown. I took it to a shop and they told me that if felt like a fuel pump issue; said that it had good pressure just not the volume. I thought that sounded kinda odd but didn't have a gauge myself to test it. Anyhow, I got it back from them changed the pump, filter, and plugs my self and its still doing the exact same thing. I don't got a whole lot of money to throw around replacing parts to try to find what's causing it. I've checked all the fuel lines for any signs of damage or leaks and just about anything that I could get to easily. Kinda running out of ideas on this...for all I know it could be clogged cat but it just doesn't seem to fit the symptoms. Only thing I could think of is bad pcm/ecm but who knows. Any second opinons would greatly be appreicated at this point.
For all its worth, the car idles and revs just fine. No surging even in the lower gears but it just strugles in those first two. Almost impossible to hit 6k rpms in them. Sorry for the book, thanks for any advice you might be able to offer.

Haha that may be my problem, running a maf and all. I thought it would of thrown a code by now if it was the maf and be noticable in all gears. The shop did hook it up to their reader and found nothing stored. Thing is bone stock and this happened just out of nowhere while taking off at a light.
My connector didn't reach and I had to stretch the harness to reach after installing an intake. I threw every single maf code you can and realized that it wasn't making a good connection. Bought an extension and haven't had a problem since. It just runs rich and has trouble on cold starts as well as idling.
So I just discovered another little quirk that is making me think that it really may be a emc/pcm issue or something electrical. Whenever I would slightly depress the clutch pedal, so that it doesn't disengage but stay in gear, the car accelerates in those two first gears like it did before. Does the clutch have a switch on it other then the ignition one that tells the ecm when its in gear? I would assume the ecm would also know which gear its in.
