Did anyone else have this issue. I have the same issue with my 09 turbo. I cleaned the ECU up a bit by picking off the excess dielectric gel. Maybe I will need to use electric cleaner. Please post I am going on a 5000 mile road trip next week and woudl like to have this solved

Just picked up my '90 T/C sedan on Friday. I now have 542 miles on it, and today the DIC "power steering" error came on 3 separate times. The first time was randomly while going down the road, the other two times were about 1-2minutes after starting the car (from sitting 15-90minutes). Did cleaning the ECU help jc? Anyone else been having problems with this? Not excited about this problem with the mileage!

Cleaning the ECU did not work. Another member(same problem) who previously posted said he got a New Body Control Module and he hasnt had an issue since. My car is currently at my dealer now, I told them how Slowbalt solved this problem. I will wait and see what they decide to do.

I will post as soon as I know

My dealer's telling me I need a new power steering motor. Sound reasonable? Been waiting a week for the part. Power steering is completely gone now, goes out as soon as car is started...

Hm... I've had this happen to me once while driving down the interstate and 3x in my driveway getting ready for work. It hasn't happened in about 7/8 months, but IDK how to fix the problem.

P/S motors are common failures

They can be serviced seperately from the column now. Thank God!

I have the same steering issue of it going out. I have a 07 LS Cobalt. I might be able to get a 09 Cobalt steering motor. Will it fit the same as in my 07 and did they fix the probs with the steering motor in the 09 models?

I got another P/S motor off ebay. The car I got the part off supposedly only had a lil over 10k before it got in a wreck. It came with the whole steering column also. Problem is even with this P/S motor, my steering light still comes on and I loose power steering. What else could be causing this problem?
