Omg!! Car Wouldnt Start!!!

I went to leave a friends house and got in my car dome light bright as the sun and turned the key half way all the dash lights and head lights came on strong and i turned the key the rest of the way and noting, no noise, the headlights just turned off, so i did that a few times with no results. So i got my friend to show him and ban it started, so i turned it off to see what would happen and it woldnt start again for a few min. WTF?!?!?!?! Should i go to the dealer tomarrow or what, HELP!

you could have a bad starter a bad battery or possibly a bad connection with the battery(loose wire)

hmm that is actually quite weird, have u checked all the electrical connections to your starter? and from the ignition? you may just have a loose wire or faulty connection somewhere.

is there a theft light on, on your dash? also, if you have a second key, try using that key for a day or so and see if it does it again. it could be the key, or the cylinder, or like stated previously, just a loose connection at the starter.

I will check the batt but it really seems like some thing else b/c all the lights come on fine. If there was a badd connection to the bat then all power to everything would be messed up. I will also check the starter connections too. Just soo weard.

Well this is why theres dealers and a warranty.

If you hear no clicking then its starter. Doubt its battery since electronics are working.

Engine light means a DTC was set, take it to the dealer and they can tell you why and what happened, all DTC's are stored in the system until deleted.

They might give him **** for his intake. Reset PCM with Battery disconnect for 15 minutes and restart. Let idle for 5 minutes, shut off for remainder of night and test out tomorrow morning.

That is all.

The engine light came on last weekend but only for an hour and i was sitting in traffic so my car was WARMER than usual so i thought thats why it was on but there was no starting problems then. I will have to go to the dealer tomarow after work, i hope that it doest give me crap during work, driving is my main job (law firm *******). Thanks for the info/input guys and gals. Much apreciated. The starter can slowly wind itself down to doing you in. Sounds like the battery is good and the connections are good................but........sometimes you don't even get a click. Starter problems...........go to your dealer and get a new one or check for connections before the starter. In any case it's a problem for the dealer to look at and soon before you find yourself paiging a tow truck.

its most likly a dead spot in your starter..... its shorting out through the armature and poping a fusable link (not fuse) when you wait it will close and you can try starting again.... the short must be very small so eventually the armature in the started moves off of that spot and then you can start it.... not 100% sure but that sounds like it

I had the same thing happen to my car but it wouldent start at all and the anti theft light kept coming on. I had to have it towed to the dealership and they found out that something shorted out in the EMS. they replaced it all and I havent had a problem since

If its a manual could be a faulty clutch switch.
