Pos Rattles everywhere

I recently bought my 09 cobalt ss with 34,xxx miles and am ******* sick of all the rattles. And on top of that my suspension is terrible. Every time i hit any sort of faint pothole or bump i get bump steer along with a rattle. So far ive narrowed down two rattles. One coming from the glove compartment and also the sunroof. I'm going to kill myself. thank god this car has such a great stereo so i can drown out the rattle with some tunes. anyone have these seem rattles and why is the suspension so bad

you bought a $20k car what do you expect? the best thing you can do is just sell it and give it to someone who would appreciate the car (like me haha)

also your driving on a race tuned susp. so its gonna be stiffer

my car only rattles in the steering column (another common complaint) but its only when i brake or am going down my back alley.

take some foam and glue it to the inside of the glove box, that should help with the rattling there.

As I wrote on the other thread discussing Cobalt rattles, I will be documenting this for GM! Thanks for writing!

What's wrong with the suspension? Mine doesn't bump steer and I've got 57k miles. Mine doesn't rattle either except a little from the sun roof on really bumpy roads.

most of the cobalt interior is put together with crappy clips and is plastic lol of course its going to rattle a little. i let my S/c whine and exhaust drown it out get it checked out though because it could always be something coverd under warranty. some rattles are normal. some rattles is **** breaking. just had my intermidiate shaft and somethig in my steeringwheel replaced. got to pick it up today from the shop.

Rattles are the exact reason I got rid of my Cobalt, I just couldn't stand it anymore. It sounded so poorly built, like it was literally going to fall apart. Honestly, I don't foresee buying a GM again unless something in the future comes out that I really like...or a C6 Corvette, only because it's fast enough and has a targa top so the wind noise + loud exhaust should drown out any rattles that car has :P

With my Balt, I took off any "snap together" trim and put foam insulation padding in between all panels. That helped a bit, but I never got rid of the sunroof rattle (the sunroof literally felt loose, despite all screws/bolts being tight), and the glovebox, which I suspect may have been that retractable cord that keeps it from slamming open...

Try lubing the weatherstripping on the sunroof and use a good thick lube for the sliding parts of the sunroof, it helps. Check if yours is really loose when open, mine was, hence why it never shut up.

I guess I should also add my GF has a LT Balt, and it does not rattle anywhere near as bad as my SS did, so the suspension and tires of the SS plays a HUGE role on that.
