Probleem!!!!
okay so my car just got in a wreck as you all may know about a month ago, well i got it back yesterday and everything seemed fine, they had to replace the fan, and radiator under the hood.. well the radiator is fine but today i was driving and it wasn't blowing cold air, just hot air but when i started to go it would blow colder air, and the coolant temp would do the same thing, go up when i'm not driving and go down as i wasn't, well when i parked it, it wouln't start because it got to over 260 degrees.. welllll... we let it sit for like an hour and drove it home, still did the same thing, we noticed when we opened the hood, that you can pretty much take out the fan, it's just propped up there like for decoration, i don't even think it works, i plan to take it back to the dealership first thing, but are the fans supposed to be bolted on or do they just prop up against the raidiator like mine is??
thanks for your help and please lemme know if ya'll have had these problems or whatever....

Most obviously your fan is not working.
At IDLE, your fan does the majority of the cooling.
While moving, your radiator does the majority of the cooling.
Cold air passes through the radiator cooling the coolant and therefore cooling the engine.
While at idle the engine needs another source to cool it as obviously the coolant isn't being cooled by flowing air, this is what the fans are for.
This is also why you will hear some fans on performance cars be set to lower degrees of initiation and you can hear them stay on after a car is turned off for cool down.
Get your fan checked out.

i got the problem fixed and the fan doesn't wiggle as much as it did before!! the check engine light is still on from when i got it back on friday though.. so we'll see if that goes off within a couple days if not it's going back again!!
