Problem with A/C controls

Today at lunch, I got into my Cobalt (05' LS Sedan), opened up the windows, and turned on the blower switch to (2). Everything was working fine, cool air coming out of vents. I went to the store...shut off blower, ....shut off car, ...went in store. I came back out of store, started up car again, turned blower back on to (2). The air coming out of vents was super hot, (like heater was on, which it was not.). I tryed to turn on A/C to cool down the air. None of the three buttons (A/C, Rear Defroster, Recirculate) were working. WTF! I shut the car off back at work. Started it right back up, WHAM....everthing is working fine again! WTF! Anyone else had this problem?
