Problem Heaven - SAFC-II Not worth it anymore
Sorry fellow 2.2L owners. So far the SAFC-II has NOT been worth it. I got on the phone with Chevy for the tachometer wire and was told to try the TAC pin outs. Well I find out the hard way that those wires are NO where near what I need. I didn't cut them or anything just pricked them with a DMM to watch the voltage. Well I guess its a sensative circuit. Also another wire got accidently knicked so I cut it and respliced it together. My car will not start up and run like it did before the SAFC-II. I have been having codes out the azz.
When I get on the throttle after cranking up the car hesitates and pulses like crazy. Well I'm going to repair the two TAC wires by removing them from the harness and putting new clips on them and sticking them back in. Soldering together ALL the wire connections and have heat wire wrap put over them and get everything back how it was and go from there. Still have NOT found the RPM signal wire which I NEED in order to have this unit function properly.
If I could just go back and stop myself from beginning this install I WOULD!
Codes that I pulled a few minutes ago. I know what they are just showing you guys the most recent codes I'm getting. Honestly, I haven't had the FIRST o2 sensor related code pop up either from my custom race header(pacesetter header with cat delete).

I am going to MAKE this unit work. I wanted it working before Nopi, but guess I'm just going to be sitting in my space without the vehicle running. So my .02 on the matter...2.2L don't waste your time with the SAFC-II until Apexi comes out with a diagram for us. I need to Hot Wire it but without the sensor settings I have to keep it on the Karman sensor setup just to keep the car running. When/If I do get it running properly you can bet I will be sending the diagram into Apexi.

Update: Removed the MAF signal wire from the SAFC-II and let the ECU take back control. Got that problem fixed. I now have the dreaded o2 sensor code which was only a matter of time. I still have the TAC and TP codes which the TAC will be fixed as soon as I get some harness connectors that you slide into the harness clip then hook it up to the ECU. I'll have to wait from CHevy for the part number of those little clips.
Going to give Apexi a call tomorrow to see how to approach this problem.

Dude you gotta have them set just right or they will make your car die and throw crazy codes like what you are talking about... I have many friends who use them and they do crazy **** to their cars until they are tuned right.

Progress!!!!!!!
Just thought I'd let you guys know after extensive research I have FINALLY located our RPM signal wire. You will need to purchase additional parts I will let you guys know that much.
Now I just have to play with our MAF sensor so the SAFC-II reads it correctly and lets the car run without dying. This may take me actually cranking it up testing...cranking it up testing. I will do it though since I am THIS close. I mean omg once I figure out the configuration for the sensor I am DONE!
How-To will come with successful installation and I will send Apex'i a copy of it to have it published. And I will demand money. MWHAHAHAHA. Sorry guys I gotta have some income...just kidding. I will be posting this EVERYWHERE I can.
