Problem with POWER STEERING on DIC!!
When i got out of work today I started my car up. And sat for like 15 mins. When i got back it was warmed up. So i started driving home. I went on a run to the store. When i got back i started the car up and on the DIC i saw a message saying POWER STEERING. So im like WTF. so i turn the car off thinking that maybe it just failed this once. well i took the key out of the ignition and the car did not go off at all. it stayed on for about 45 secs. I was really confused. Has anyone else had this Problem..

Talk to your dealer about your problem, it could be serious. The steering system is electronic, so if it ***** up, you could get seriously injured in a crash. Do it now!

I just had a problem with my power steering on my 05 coupe and it turned out to be nothing more than a bad wire. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Just thought I would inform anyone with the same problem

I've had a similar problem, althought my DIC never came on. But I knowtice that when the car has been moving for a while and I've driven for about 30 mins if I turn the wheel around a corner it makes a growning sound and the faster I turn, the louder it is.

If thats your question, than no, I don't think it does. Reason being that electric motors don't heat up the way a hydraulic system would.

Sitting for a long time could cause it to heat up perhaps...

If the DIC displayed a "STEERING" message, there will be a DTC stored.
