Pulls to the left on acceleration

I have no idea what the cause could be but my alignment of the car is perfect, it goes in a straight line when off the gas but as soon as I get back on it the car starts steering towards the left and is annoying as hell. Help?

As Tommyp2010 said, it is torque steer. You will never eliminate it in a front wheel drive car. Just hang onto the steering wheel.

TOrque steer.

Another thought. If your left CV axle is busted... and you have a limited Slip Diffrential, I would think that it would torque steer to the left (or right if the right axle is busted)
because if the axle is busted, the diff would lock, and youd be essency one wheel drive.

Just a thought.

I just took my car in and had them look at a noise it was making during shifting and steering. My car use to pull to one side when I first got it, but eventually stopped... Anyway... that noise turned out to be both of my CV joints were bad. The car only has 12k on it.

Basically it ONLY does it under accel. Is perfect on decel and neutral. AND its never done this before until recently. And it only does it to the left.

Air pressure? Check it recently? Mine pulls more so than normal if one of them is out of whack.

This is OBVIOUSLY not torque steer from power. I doubt you bought the car yesterday and you floored it for the first time. This sounds like a power issue between the two wheels, either by a stripped cv joint or a screwy axle.

By the way I have NEVER experienced torque steer due to power in my car. never.

AND now it developed a noise that sounds like clanking metal everytime I go over a bump or something and right off of acceleration from slow speed or a stop. This is extremely irritating.

Would this cause it to pull left on accel only as well?

check air pressure for one, possible you need a tire balance(maybe a wieght fell off?), or possible bent rim, i know the bent rim thing, i rotated my tired recently and had to put my bent one on the front so my car pulls to the right on accel.

MY AIR PRESSURE IS FINE. I've said this a million times. sorry. I also said my car is PERFECT with alignment and tire pressure. It goes in a perfect straight line when in neutral, when the clutch is down (neutral), and on DECELERATION too. It only pulls to the right on ACCELERATION, no other time. I press the gas, it goes left. That's it.

Sorry to hear that man, I read your thread and like 10 others a few days ago and jotted down the possibilities.

Yes, the most abuse to the bushing occurs while it is being pulled towards the outside, jack the car up note the at rest position of the CAB and let the jack down and note how far it moves, if it's more than a 1/8 or so inch, it's too much, it might also be possible to get in there with a pry bar and check them manually. You may be able to visually note tearing but not always, it's kind of a pain to see it but I am absolutely positive sight unseen if your TP is ok, your an experienced driver and this has gotten from barely noticable to bad inside of a month, your CAB has gone bad.

Yes it will throw off your perceived alignment, it will feel like torque steer, and no it will not oppose and feel just as bad on the brakes. You will need to change them but I got the process down to about 30 minutes to change them all with the use of air tools.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR! Get a set of POLYURETHANE control arm bushings, GREASE them before you install them into the car with a lithium based grease and wipe up the excess when your done. Mine make no noise, feel better than stock and really take a beating.

I would say a tire is messed up somehow since it just started to pull and nothing has happened to the car other then regular wear and tear. Try swapping your left/right front wheels (if there not directional) and see if it pulls to the right. Then swap your fronts with your rears.

from my experience its alignment or tires/rims.

and that comment about chevy's being like herpes is so true. not that I have herpes. I'm just saying I count my chevy's reliability in weeks. not years. hopefully the engine and transmission are alot more reliable than the suspension is turning out to be. lol.
