Question about a fuse box

I'm getting screwed by the local dealership so I might be doing this myself. I am being told (after spending over 500 bucks already) that my headlight problem is that I need to replace my fuse box. Originally it was thought that it was my BCM. The BCM needs to be programmed to the car once it is installed (this is the whole reason I'm at the dealership in the first place. If I replace the fuse box does it need to be reprogrammed? I am capable of doing some fixes and with the amount my local dealer has already taken from me I am getting to the point where I will need to wait and pay taxes and do it a few months later. I can get the part for under 100.00 and it seems pretty simple to r&r as long as I won't need to have it reprogrammed.

I just need to know is this a part that needs to be programmed once installed.

Ps. They are telling me that there are relays that are built into the fuse box and are not replaceable. Can anyone confirm this?

Part no I looked up is 15269047.

some relays are infact internal and unservicable that being said if its your underhood fuse box then that is a plug and play piece. the in car like you stated is the bcm and needs to be setup for your car.

Yes it's the underhood box. Dealer got a discounted one for 550.00. I can get one from any number of gm wholesalers for less than 350.00. Autozone ordered me one for 80.00. Crossing my fingers that this finally works out for me. Been through a lot of crap with this.

I still love the car though.

This sounds like the ole Murphy's law saying, a 300 dollar picture tube will save a ten cent fuse by blowing first.

I will probably post a walk through of what I have been through at some point.
