question about temps and possible overheating

ok, its about 80-90 degrees outside, and when driving slow, or idleing for a little bit, my temp says about 220-230 or so. isnt that high? whenever i start driving around it goes down to 200-210. is that normal? i know when my focus did something like this just a little more to the extreme, it turns out i blew a head gasket. i just bought this car monday..lol

i also have that fluctuating idle but it only does it like right when i turn on the car. have they found a fix for that yet? like a flash or something? i cant afford to be out of a car for more than a day.

Yes, that is normal. These engines like to run a little hot.

when its 90 out mine hovers from about 195-210. Its normal, thinks the fan kicks on at 225 to prevent it from overheating. If you have the AC on, the fan runs and should keep the temp under 205 easy.
