Quick problem with keypad and settings!
Hello! I'll keep this quick and simple.
When I use my keypad to unlock the doors and stuff it no longer works. The dealer said to replace to batteries but it is unecessarily expensive to have them do it. I found out the code for the battery and picked up new batteries and replaced them. However the keypad is still not working. The dealer said I need to come in and have it reset, does anyone know how to set it up so my keypad work with my 07' Cobalt? Thanks so much everyone!

are you talking about the keyfob?
You may want to open it up and make sure the battery contact has not come unsoldered from the pcb, i had to open mine up and resolder the connection to the board.

but i wouldn't know from experience as i don't have power locks. :P
"are you talking about the keyfob?"
Yes I am talking about the Keychain piece that has options like "unlock/lock/panic/trunk"
I dropped it recently and come to think of it I don't think it has worked since then. I will open it up and take a look how at the soldering. If it is indeed broken, how hard is it to fix (I am not familiar with soldering). Thanks for the quick responses everyone!

If your out of warranty you can resolder the battery holder yourself .
It doesnt need to be reprogrammed.
What it is like the other guy said ,the solder joint or connection is bad for the part the battery its in .
Take a close look at it and you will see the problem.
If you cant do it a guy at radio shack should be able to do it for a few bucks ,cheaper than buying a new one.
