Ratling/Creeking Glove Box

My glove box CONSISTANTLY Ratles and Creeks like there are screws loose or there is some plastic rubbing other plastic. It is getting VERY ANNOYING! Ive brought the car to the dealer once for it already and they said that they had to do some "vigourus" adjustments to the glove box... Still makes the damn noise if not worse! Im wondering if anyone else is having or have had this problem and if so ANY suggestions on how to fix it would GREATLY be appreciated!

I've had it since I got the car, just something you have to get used to.

I have that also, but I think it is something under the glove box. I haven't found it yet, but plan on trying more.

I also noticed my door handles rattle, and so to the enclosures for the door mount tweeters.

I got the squeak, pops up now and then and I ward it off for a while by opening and closing the glove box.

I tried that and it didn't work for me. I even took everything out thinking it was something in there, but no luck.

I have also punched everything that rattles in there but I found out the best way to cure the rattles is to install a ridiculously loud stereo.

Well I've been trying to fix my rattles for about a month now that are coming from that area. I completely removed the glove box, and then whenever I have a passenger in the car their role is then deamed rattle finder. Everytime I fix one rattle another shows up. it's absolutly rediculous. I'm now trying to find some foam that some dealerships stuff the dash with and use that.

If there's some way to take it out, Take it out, and put little rubber feet on it. That will stop the rattle.

My Cobalt has had a dash rattle since new. It seems to only be noticeable at speeds over
55MPH, or when it is extremely windy outside. (weird!) I have taken to the dealer, they
can't figure it out thought. The rattle is not constant, sometimes it rattles, other times
it doesn't. I just turn up the radio, and the noise dissappears!

Took my in 3 times and twice the dealer had the car overnight for the damn same issue. Now the rattle is even worse than before - not good Anyway, the more the dealer tinkers with it the worse it gets. Just let the dealer know that the rattle is still present and to document in their file so as you are going to in yours.

Pull of the fuse panel under the glove box. I found 2 screws missing and this to be a source of the rattle. It did sound like a glove box.

if you remove the glove box (by pushing in on the side tabs) there is a wire harness that runs up the left side. You should see a silver metal bracket, the wire haness is behind this. I tie strapped these together and yet another rattle gone. I also gave the screws a 1/4 turn. the wire harness is in a black protective wrap. Maybe this will help some ppl out

I dont have any glovebox issues but with no one in the back seat it rattles loud enough for me to hear over my car and stereo on the freeway. Drives me nuts. Maybe I am just a little to **** thou. O well I will find it someday. lol

i had that same problem. i found later that a small found piece of rubber came loose and fell off. this little round piece was a bushing for the glovebox's stopping"nipple" the tech at my dealer found it after like half an hour, but hey i was surprised he found it and fixed it at all. i mean that little piece looks so insignificent

No squeaks here (Knocks on wood). I travel about 2Km down a pretty bumpy road too on my way into work each day. I hear nothing but the sound of the supercharger...
