rear view mirror lights problem

hey guys i have a problem with my rear view mirror lights...i had my car serviced at chevy for my sunroof track breaking...and when I got it back the plug for the rear view mirror was out. So i plug it back in and the lights work when they are supposed to except that when you push the buttons they dont turn the lights on. If the lights are still on from when you unlock the doors or put the car in park and you push the buttons instead of the lights just staying on it now shuts them off? Very weird...Thanks in advanced!

Do you think you could of forced the connector in in reverse(my guess ), turn it 180 deg and try it .
There is alignment tabs on the connector check it out to make sure it is in properly !
