Reduced engine power.

So I was just out for a drive, and I stopped at a gas station to get something to drink. I get in my car turn it on and it throws a CEL, and the screen reads Reduced engine power... I was able to drive it home a couple miles but it would take so long for the car to get up to speed and would not go into boost at all. Any help on this is? much appreciated, thanks.

When your vehicle displays this message, the vehicle has reduced power to avoid damaging the engine. Has it stayed on constantly since the initial display? If so, it is recommended to visit your servicing dealership.

Let me know if I can look into anything further for you via p.m. (please include the last 8 of your VIN),
